The Green Cup­™ is a compostable, recyclable and plastic-free takeaway cup.

Takeaway cups have long been lined on the inside with very thin plastic, this helps waterproof the cups. However, as we are all well aware, plastic manufacturing is an extremely unsustainable practice. So PLA and other bio-plastics were launched to help reduce the reliance on plastics. A plant-based alternative is a massive improvement, but with bio-plastics only being able to be commercially composted, they also have zero recyclability. Which means this had it’s own drawbacks
