Takeaway cups have long been lined on the inside with very thin plastic, this helps waterproof the cups. However, as we are all well aware, plastic manufacturing is an extremely unsustainable practice. So PLA and other bio-plastics were launched to help reduce the reliance on plastics. A plant-based alternative is a massive improvement, but with bio-plastics only being able to be commercially composted, they also have zero recyclability. Which means this had it’s own drawbacks…

Made from recycled aluminium, ‘EcoWater’ comes filled with pure British Spring Water bottled at source in Herefordshire, UK.

They are designed to reduce the consumption of single use Plastic bottles of water once finished can be reused and refilled… And as they are aluminium, it means they can be recycled forever.

And although plastic cups can be recycled, they can only be recycled 3-5 times before becoming too degraded to recycle, therefor probably ending up in landfill. The emissions created in the manufacturing of plastic is much higher too. If they’re not recycled, then the ever-growing issue of micro-plastics in our land and waters can be fatal to thousands of species.

These new Aluminium cups can be re-used and put through an industrial dishwasher at least 5 times. Even more if they are hand washed.
